hi there everyone. I’m starting injections for methotrexate soon. I’m currently on the tablets. And I haven’t taken the injections before, does anyone have any tips on how to take the injections or if it helps with lessening the side effects like tiredness.
Not very keen on injecting myself but haven’t got a choice really 😂 just want to make sure I do it right and not wrong.
many advice is much appreciated thankyou 😊

It's very easy to use the injections. You should have a slightly greater level of methotrexate in your system with the injections as you'll avoid the problems with absorption from the gut.
If you're being changed over because of side effects, some people find that helps. Personally, I didn't and had to come off methotrexate altogether. If you have a look at the treatment pages on the NRAS website, you will see what other DMARDs are available.
Yes injections were better . By pass gut symptoms and the inject device was very easy. The nurse saw me and practiced with a dummy device. I stopped because I was not getting enough relief from my symptoms. Good luck.x
hi sorry I’ve not responded I haven’t been on here in a few days, I’ve currently had a nightmare switching to injections, I’ve had two kidney infections due to injections and have been on antibiotics causing me to have to stop for 2 weeks 🙃 obviously everyone reacts differently so u might be okay but at the moment I’m in a worse situation than before. I have a lot more energy tho so that is one bonus I guess 😂
