ouchy that looks so sore - poor you. Yes there are strong links - can’t recal what percentage of those with Sjögren’s will develop some type of Vasculitis but it’s significant enough to be a recognised aspect of Sjögren’s. Reflux and silent reflux are both very common with Sjögren’s too. I have both myself as extras but also have scleroderma/ systemic sclerosis and have a paralysed gut top to tail from this. So it’s hard to be certain which disease is causing what in my case. Xx

I’ve gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. It started early on with my GPA vasculitis. I’ve had two endoscopies which show that my stomach and oesophagus are not damaged. However my respiratory vasculitis doctor explained that the most likely explanation is that prednisolone permanently damaged the valves in and out of my stomach. This means I get reflux from the acid released back up my oesophagus through the top faulty valve. I take pantoprazole & peptac (prescription gsviscon). The reflux makes me cough: I didn’t realise it could be a gas as well as air. It irritates my airways. I hope that makes sense to you.
