In May 2019 volunteers from Vasculitis UK took part in two separate Vasculitis Medical Education Workshops in Manchester.

Vifor Pharma along with Shanali Perera held an ANCA Vasculitis Resource Evaluation Workshop in Manchester. It was attended by 4 patient volunteers and 1 carer. All aspects of raising awareness of vasculitis were discussed including raising awareness through Art.

UKIVAS held their first Vasculitis Education day for medical professionals at Salford Hospital Manchester. The day was very well attended by 140 medical professionals including consultants and specialist nurses.

Patient representative and Vasculitis UK volunteer Jayne Hardman was asked to give her own presentation and story about her own personal journey being diagnosed with GPA Vasculitis.

Really enjoyed the workshop by Vifor Pharma. We discussed what kind of resources would be most useful to patients with Vasculitis & Vifor were keen to learn about our experiences as patients around getting a diagnosis, our treatment, how the disease affects us etc The pharmaceutical company has produced a video about the workshop which will be featured on their new website for patients. We can share a link to it when it’s ready.
