Hi I've had this come back on my blood tests. Will see rheumatologist in a few weeks. My gp thinks I have vasulitis re this blood and a few of my symptoms. I'm unsure as by looks of this it says it was unable to determine the presence of p-Anca due to atypical nuclear staining whatever that means. Anyone seen this before? Does it mean I will just need blood tested again? Many thanks.

Hi. I am not a gp so don’t know what that means. I would ask for another blood test as you need to know for sure if you are ANCA positive. I hope it’s all ok.
My first ANCA test came back with a comment about staining too: because of my other symptoms (lungs, kidneys, joints, eyes) they repeated it very quickly. But it was also highly positive. The second ANCA test confirmed my diagnosis of GPA-ANCA associated Vasculitis, but it was my symptoms that were driving the pace of diagnosis and treatment, not the blood tests. So it looks like you might have to wait to see the rheumatologist, but if your symptoms get worse I would go back to your GP ASAP.
