Continuing 'Toilet Troubles', maybe a poll?

I wrote a 'Post', a while ago now, regarding 'Toilet Problems'- Primarily Constipation. I received a number of replies, to my question, on this subject. From the replies it was apparent that, a considerable number, of us DO get constipated. Clearly, such a poll, could also ask about Diarrhoea, wind, bloating and so forth.

It is NOT the most Salubrious of subjects but.....Maybe a 'Poll' might reveal the extent, of the problem. Just a thought that I had, on the loo, the other day.

Once again, sorry about the Subject Matter....

Hmm..... a potty poll......

I'm sure most folks experience the two ends of the scale you mention, as well as the bloating too. All I can say is you're not alone Andrew, the concoction of pills I take has had a variable and sometimes devastating effect on my digestive system over the last two years of my vascular disease.

But do I want to vote about it? I'd sit on that one for a while if I were you lol :)

Number 1 problems. I think they call it incontinent. Constipation for sure

I has just occurred to me - since there is believed to be such a link between dysfunctional gut flora and a/i disorders, I wonder does that also contribute to this?

hi regarding constipation.... your suggestion of a poll seems a bit extreme and i think its actually spelt pole :)

It was only a suggestion roobub, by the way 'Poll' is right- for a consensus - a 'Pole' is a large stick, or rod. Do you suffer from 'Toilet Problems'?

I've got a feeling that roobub was thinking of a temporary solution rather than asking questions ;)

Hello

it is a subject that interests me very much. My son (12 years old) has MPA. It has also diarrhea that seems to be due to Myfortic. But I have so many doubts and fear. Could it be an inflammatory bowel disease associated with Mpa (Chron o ICU)? I would like to learn more from your experiences. In these days I have asked to do the examination of Calcprocteina.

If you have links on the topic vasculitis and medicines associated with diarrhea, I thank you in advance.

Dear Wizzi,

Sorry if this isn't quite the reply, that you were hoping for.....My advice is to speak to your Son's Doctors/Consultants. These issues are often VERY complex and any 'Suggestion', that you adopt- without reference to a Doctor- can be Dangerous!

I'm also NOT 100 percent familiar with, your Son's condition; it appears to be fairly/quite different to mine.

As regards his Constipation/G.I. tract Problems, which we ALL unfortunately seem to Get, try Fibre (though NOT too much) and keep him Well Hydrated. You don't say his age but, if he is a child, DO stress that, none of this, is his 'Fault'. (It may help even if he is an adult too

In any event I sincerely hope he feels better soon. Can you let us know please?

Kindest Wishes, to you both.

I had the results of the Calcprocteina which is mildly pathological. My doctor's son says that we have to wait for the cortisone and the celltech to climb more to check if they are the cause of diarrheaI. I hope they are

have a good day

I just thought I’d put here, although not really the right place but I’m in horrible peripheral pain just now so can’t start trawling posts. But I wanted to say that Constella (Linaclotide) has been life changing for me.

I saw a gastroenterologist shortly before Christmas about chronic constipation - caused by a mix of autonomic neuropathy and dryness throughout the digestive tract. He suggested this relatively new medication for IBS-c. You can only get it from a gastroenterologist.

I wasn’t expecting it to help this much but it has completely transformed my days and even better, my nights. I take my small capsule early morning - at 30 minutes before my breakfast.

I don’t need any of my old laxatives often now - things have just returned relatively normal function. And best of all I have no stomach pain anymore whereas this was keeping me up all night quite often prior to starting the Constella.

Anyhow I just thought this good news story about a medication for IBS-c might help others here if you can get a referral to a gastroenterologist.

Not what you're looking for?
