I travelled to St Thomas's Hospital in London regularly by train for over 20 years - a distance of about 220 miles, so you don't have to be local. Rita

Do you still travel that 220 miles Rita?

No, Suzy.

A few years ago when I had a relapse, I was transferred to the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle as I was too unwell to make the train journey with my wheelchair with all the hassle of a taxi at each end, Because I am registered disabled I am taken by taxi to see a rheumatologist, an ENT consultant and an osteoporosis consultant. They are very professional, very friendly and very helpful. If I have a real problem in between consultations I am able to contact a secretary who will act as go-between with the consultant.

I could not wish for better care.
