Sunscreen factor 50

Now the sun will soon be shining does anyone know of a 50 plus factor sun screen that doesn't make you look white , greasy or comes off on clothes. Being on Azathioprine and having skin problems because of it, I need to keep covered up. Thanks

I hope someone has an answer to your question because my husband has the same problem. We tried to find a non oily sun screen but have not been successful.

I will need to find a good sunscreen as I have recently been treated for basal cell carcinoma, I also was at that time taking Azothioprine. I stopped taking it.

I get prescribed Sunsense factor 50. It's Australian but available on the NHS. It's great.

Yes, our's has full name Ego Sun Sense Ultra SPF 50+

Given at first by dermatologist at hospital and then added to presciption at GP surgery ( no questions asked, always given) .

That's interesting. We can get it prescribed on the NHS? Did you gave to ask for it. I'm not on aziathiropine but my consultants already said to me to make sure I out sun screen on.

My dermatologist told me to get Sunsense prescribed. He gave me samples which I took to my gp and I've been on it ever since.

I'd enquire with your gp. If it's in a consultant letter that you should wear it then I'd say it should be prescribed.

Hi, on my face I use Helio gel - it's expensive, but it's not heavy or one that turns you white. Then on my body I use a kids milk one (Garnier) in a spray as it's not sticky and doesn't leave you with patchy white marks.

Thanks

I use Ultrasun it is a little expensive but you only have to apply it once a day and you can get in and out of the water as often as you like without it coming off i follow with Ultrasun after sun as it has a good conditioning effect as well.

HI, I use Boots Soltan protect and moisturise suncare lotion. There is a separate one for the face and it is not greasy at all. I can put makeup over it and it stays all day.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I have used Uvistat 50 which was prescribed but it leaves a white finish, especially in the wrinkles!! Also I have used Reiman P20 (50 ) but this stains the clothes although is very effective otherwise. Will try some of your suggestions. thank you and enjoy the sun when it arrives, but keep covered especially if you are on Azathioprine.

Hi, i used Garnier Ambre Solaire Dry Mist factor 50, i found it excellent, you spray it on and leave it and its done. I holidayed on Canada last year and it was very hot, to hot for me but i did not get any sun burn or sore skin so maybe give it a try. I bought it from boots when it was buy one get one free. hope it helps,x
