Why don't you ring them and explain your difficulties with this. See if they have another venue for the assessment and if they can't change it, they will be able to assist with the parking issues. You could check on google for routes to the meeting place but I'm sure they will be able to assist you. When we went for the assessment, they were very helpful and they will pay travelling expenses.

Good luck

Thanks for all your replies. I've managed to change my appointment to Colchester which is only 45mins away.

Where abouts, in Colchester, is the assessment? I know the town, quite well, so I might-only might though-be able to help with parking. (Stupidly enough, the new 'park and ride' scheme is almost complete. It is quite near our Headway Group-The Brain Injury Association ('Providing Care & Support To Brain Injury Servitors & There families' That's their 'mission statement'.) I do have 'fairly good knowledge' of the rest of the town, as well. I'll do my best, in any event.

I'm glad that you managed to change the appointment Val. I'm sure that I speak for us all when I say that I send you our, very best prayers and wishes, and hope that it all goes well for you. Please do let us know how you 'get on', will you please?

Once again, I send our very best wishes.

The assessment is at the Colchester Centre on Hawkins Rd. The centre has parking including disabled bays, bit of an improvement to Norwich. I will keep you informed of progress though I am dreading the assessment. thanks for your best wishes I will be glad when it is all over.

Word from a fellow sufferer, remember this doctor you will see at Assesment is extremely biased in favour of you bein fine and fit for work. It's not really their fault it's all about stats, remember they are asking about your worst days don't under any circumstance talk about that day you felt a bit better or that will be how you are assessed (wrongly) avoid giving a false representation of your condition tell the doctor how bad you've been and some of your worst experience also any other illnesses you may have because of this horrible disease . Thanks I will remember. Isn't it awful that people who are so unwell are put under so much pressure. Is it worth taking a list of daily symptons etc. dwith me.
