He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in London and of the Association of Physicians of Great Britain and Ireland, and is the Vice-chair of the Arthritis Research UK - Research Education and Capacity Committee, and a member of the Medical Research Society Committee. Prof Mason was responsible for writing the Takayasu Arteritis Web page for Vasculitis UK
