Dear suzym2u(hey groovy name!)

I wonder if John might be able to help you here- he seems to have a great deal of knowledge about quite a lot. He may well read this anyway if not, ask him a question direct, through the forum.

The only time I ever had a problem with my spleen, I hope anyway!, was when I had Glandular Fever- many years ago, at school.

Good luck suzy

Thank you Andrew, it was me who asked Susan to ask the question in both HU and FB, but we have received a few replies from FB.

All the best

John

I did question whether I might have a spleen involvement, after starting on Rituximab, as I was getting pain on my left side, but this now seems to have gone, so hopefully all is well!

I have multiple auto-immune conditions, one of which caused major spleen involvement in 1996 when I had a very enlarged spleen diagnosed as sarcoidosis. This still gives me a lot of upper left sided pain, especially if I may have been exposed to anybody around me with a cold, virus or other infections, I always get spleen ache for a week or so.

Since that date, I have also been diagnosed with Vasculitis when I had a large bleed in my left eye. I dont know if the 2 are related, but my kidneys have also been damaged, possibly by the vasculitis.

I also have Systemic Scleroderma, Lupus, type 1 Diabetes, Hypothyroid and autoimmune Hepatitis. I dont know why I have so many auto-immune illnesses, I only hope the doctors keep me going on all the meds I have to take, and that I dont get anything else go wrong with me!

Good luck
