Ketotifen Supply UK Q1 2023

Hello all,

I was prescribed Ketotifen by a Neurogastroenterologist in late 2022 but have had no joy in getting my prescription dispensed ever since, with pharmacies telling me it is still out of stock in the UK.

I'm aware of this site: ukmasto.org/ketotifen/ with current ETA as "expected back in mid-April according to the producers" but I admit I am fed up waiting for a drug to come back in stock.

I wondered how any of you who are prescribed this regularly possibly manage with such unreliable supply chain in the UK, and whether there are any valid alternatives for MCAS, or another way to source it?

I don't have any problems getting my prescriptions of 1mg zaditen (ketotifen) tablets and collected my last prescription a couple of weeks ago. See the related post called 'no supplies of zatiden/ketotifen'. Jess described in great detail how the pharmacy could get the tablets delivered direct from Alloga (the distributor) and then pharmacy gets invoiced. My local independent pharmacy was happy to oblige and I've had no problems getting my prescription since then.

Hi there I live in Wales and picked up my prescription last week. So your local pharmacy should be able to order it. If I try to get mine anywhere else I am just told they don't have it . Good luck
