Sanofi (maker of licensed Nalcrom) are estimating that their product will return to the UK in the week commencing 14 December. The Department of Health and Social Care estimates on their website that it will return in early January (perhaps taking into account that Sanofi's date has already changed once).
Mawdsleys says their lead time for orders is 2-3 weeks and they have successfully ordered the product already for some patients.
Target Pharmaceuticals says their lead time is 3-4 weeks and they have successfully ordered the product already for some patients.
Alium Medical is looking for a new supplier after their initial supplier ran out. We will update here when they give me an update.
Given the time frame, there is time to have your pharmacist order and to have it arrive before the licensed product returns. Please send the doctor and pharmacist the link to the PSNC listing (to be found by using their search box and writing Nalcrom, not sodium cromoglycate, if they are looking) as it gives clear instructions about how the prescription should be written.

Hi Kay, I realised that I also don't know how to make it work! It now does seem to redirect to the right page, but not without that first landing that says it needs a redirect. I will look into how to post a link. Not sure why it isn't intuitive!
Actually the address which I put in has now turned into a blue "clickable" link - all on its own, so I needn't have worried. Also your original link now works for me (after the redirect link) - very odd.
Hi Jess, My pharmacist reserved mine from Target on the 17th and they say its going to take 2 weeks for there supply, so hopefully won't be long now. Thank you for all your help
A few days ago the medicines manager at my GP called the manufacturers of Nalcrom (after I had requested a special presription) and was told the capsules should be available in a week to 10 days. I have just looked at the PSNC website and see they have updated their resupply information to show week ending 4 December, so am hoping to get some through the traditional prescription route just before my supply runs out. I was lucky that my local pharmacy had one tub of 100 capsules somewhere on their shelves when my last request was made. Fingers crossed that normal service for this drug will be resumed shortly.
Good news - I just had a delivery of Nalcrom from my pharmacy - somewhat out of the blue but very welcome! Hopefully others will be able to get theirs soon.
Hi Jess, my chemist called me on Wednesday to let me know that he'd sourced 200 Nalcrom pills so I collected them immediately and started feeling better next day. I'm hoping that we'll have a good spell with supply now. Take care, Jane
Hi there. I'm the daughter and carer of another forum member and I'm delighted to say that our lovely local pharmacy was able to fulfil StemGinger's prescription of Nalcrom (300 tablets) on 1 Feb. What a relief! 😀
