I am 19 months out from my kidney transplant from a deceased donor. Was doing well and my creatinine was actually within the normal range at about a year post transplant. However, since then my creatinine has been creeping up and now is 1.74. Have tried lowering my protein intake, and more hydration without benefit. Have had two ultrasounds, a CT scan and two Allosure tests, with no indication of rejection or any technical issues. I am a 6 antigen match.
My last tacrolimus level was 6.8, which is supposedly within the normal range. I think that it has to be kidney injury from the tacrolimus, and I am asking the transplant nephrologists to reduce my dose. I am willing to have a kidney biopsy.
Has anyone had any experience with this?

I'm in Australia where our acceptable Tacro limits are between 5 and 20ug/l. You're creatinine seems OK to me. Your numbers will change often (as do mine) which can be a source of stress. I'm a transplant patient, not a doctor, and I wouldn't be too stressed about those numbers.
Thank you! That makes me feel better. The nephrologists do not think that it’s the tacrolimus. I have a biopsy set up in three days and we’ll see what it shows!
