when can i dye my hair after a kidney transplant?
Hi
Congratulations on your transplant.
I'm not aware of any rules regarding dying hair but I would suggest having a patch test to ensure no reaction, even to dyes used previously.
My understanding is that the
new drugs in our systems can change the chemical balance in our body and skin. I dyed my hair within a few weeks as it made me feel better with no adverse effects.
I can think of no reason that your fistula clotting off should make a difference to dying your hair.
If you are worried ask your transplant nurse.
Hi its only my experience......I had my transplant 8 yrs ago and only in the last 2 yrs have gone blonde so harsh chemicals are used my hairdresser did a patch test im fine however It does cause mild burn sensation which can make you want yo scratch I think if you did its a case of a wound on your scalp no matter how small that could be a risk of infection if on high dose of immune suppression and recent transplant x
