Sorry for being mega frustrated and forgetting my manners, but thats the way i feel at least once a week. Ive been bashing my head against a wall gor decades, i believe losing the plot once in a while is allowed. I just can't stand my 3 noises everyday. Im losing it slowly but surely. Apologies

You will be going round in circles all your life with healthcare. Give it up. Its down to you and you alone. No c@#t will help you. Sorry

SOMEONE HELP ME WITH SOME MEDICATION SO I DONT HAVE TO MAKE A MESS OF MYSELF WITH THE DRINK. All my gps are f----- s--- and dont give a crap. They just want you to go away because they don't give a flying f---.

I feel as though i need a little help in the form of medication yet my Drs are extremely reluctant to give me anything even though at least twice a week or more my T flairs up and i am going mad. It also can't be good for my brain(stress, mental anguish , too much thinking usually negative thoughts). I know for a fact that just a few benzos a week would save me from this pain/ordeal yet they won't entertain me. I think it'll take a breakdown or worse before they listen. Has anyone got any advice on how i can get the relief i so desperately desire??? Thanks

thank you for your apology.

Can I suggest that you phone the British Tinnitus Association? Open Monday to Friday 9-5. Their webchat is open NOW.

Phone : 0114 250 9933

But please please be polite. They are a charity and the phones are manned by ordinary people like you and me, who suffer from T.

I know how you feel , I try to be positive but I have had a terrible 3 weeks myself ..at times have been reduced to tears ( not a great look for the office ! )

Get back to the facts

1 You are not losing your mind

2 The way it feels now is not the way it will always be

If you can break up vicious cycles of worry sensitivity worry , worse feelings there is a way out ..habituation . It is not a myth , you don't freak out when the car or the wind makes a noise or when you feel your socks on your feet -

Plan your recovery ..if nothing else it will make you feel better about it and start to rebuild acceptance . I know very well how empty this sounds ..I feel just the same way now but even if you don't believe it keep saying it and keep doing it.

Its a problem to solve like others , no-one pretends it is always easy but you are stronger than you think you are

Take care

Hello Tinnitus2709

Losing the plot is normal - and venting about frustration is one of the things that this forum can help with.

It's OK. Tinnitus can push us over our limits. You've suffered for a long time so I guess you've tried just about everything. I don't feel qualified to advise you in many ways as I've had T for 12 years - compared to your 40! - but I've been where you are. There are no easy answers. I 'm coping better now but I still come here most days. It's like a support network. I hope you might find comfort here too.

Hey Tinnitus 2709

Its ok, we all have reached a point where we feel like this sometimes I get it where I feel I have no way out.

I try to remain positive and I'm still finding my way to cope with T which started recently.

Should you need to talk we are here 💜

I have suffered tinnitus for a few years now my right ear has been removed as it was looking like meningitis was startingI now have 2 hearing aids the left ear has a device which can except signals from the device in the right ear and is somewhat better

My main problem is the tinnitus has gotten louder plus it registers other sounds similar to someone play a comb with silver paper placed on it driving me up the pole but I usually find what helps is to open my mouth and breath deeply

Hope this helps someone and remember there are others out there much worse than us Thank you for your kind thoughts

Hi

Please read my own T post where I describe how I found ‘a way to stop paying attention to the T’ and as a result, was able to stop the benzos, that I took for 10 years to get to sleep.

No benzos now for the last 5 years!

The T doesn’t bother me at all now, as I am now able to say this

- T is nothing, compared.

All the best!

I am in exactly the same boat, my Tinnitus has and is getting worse , what amazes me is, it is never mentioned on main stream media it is almost as if it does not exist, we know better.

I do believe thier spending 60 million on research in the uk this year (dont quote me on that). But yeah if only a few politicians had T bad, maybe it would be taken more seriously. Were not alone though, most countries are doing thier best. Its just that the ears/brain connection are so hard to fathom. Some day eh!

Hi M! - My T is getting worse as well , even though i am not wearing the hearing aids (as i should be) . I remember u started with hearing aids earlier this year - I was told by audiologist that hearing aids eventually soften the tinnitus - Is it still very loud ( or louder than before) when u take them out ? I am surprised there hasnt been a reduction / softening of the volume for you

thanks - Suz
