Bad cold and tinnitus louder than ever

I've got a stinking cold and my tinnitus (which I've had 24/7 since March) is the loudest it's ever been and my ears are blocked making me feel dizzy too. Does anyone else find their T gets worse with a cold? I have also recently been diagnosed with vestibular migraine so having to deal with daily dizziness and nausea too for the past couple of months. Have a busy job and three lovely kids (all under 12) but feeling a bit down and fed up with it all. Friends and family are kind but don't really get how I'm feeling. It's just been a bit tough.

My Tinnitus started after a bad cold 4yrs ago and I've had 1 cold since getting Tinnitus and yes it went louder while I had the cold but when it went my Tinnitus went back to normal a few weeks later. Most T suffers say colds spikes theirs but it's always temporary. Make sure you do steaming that helps

Yes, I do find that if my nose is stuffy then the T rears it’s head. I use a decongest spray which I stuffs the nose for a few hours and this reduces the decibels of the T slightly.

I do the same. I find Neilmed sachets the most effective and most reasonable price wise.

Sinex Micromist. Got it from local pharmacy. Can’t remember how much but around a fiver.

My tinnitus always gets louder with a cold its because the inner ear canal in my case anyway blocks up with flem as soon as the cold goes and the ears clear by them self's the tinnitus will go back to its normal level i know its not nice but believe me it will ease when the cold has gone.

Here in the States I was recommended Afrin which I think is also available in the UK.

Thanks so much - will look into it as really suffering with blocked ears and discomfort 😭
