I have a cold with different experience of Tinnitus

Just wanted to ask whether a spike is 'normal' while I have a cold? I was shivering all day and evening yesterday and when I went to bed last night, I heard a heart beat sound (quite fast) in my brain! Is this something you can offer any guidance on? Thanks in advance.

Hello Pink - the answer is a definite YES. Your ears nose and throat are all joined up inside your head and what affects one of these affects the other two. Suggestions - use a nasal decongestant so that you can breathe through your nose better - ask your pharmacist or get Sinex Micromist

Drink plenty of water.

Try the old fashioned thing, head over a steam bowl , towel over head and inhale deeply !!!! 😂 😂 😂 it does work

When I have a cold and my nose is blocked my Tinnitus defiantly seems worse, I use those little airway strips that fit across the bridge of your nose, I only use them at night for a week at a time as I find they cause a rash after a while.

Take care

Mike
