Evening, so I had blocked nose sinus few weeks back and my ear was a bit off for those 2 weeks, it cleared up and thought ah good was just my sinus. After getting a flight back home after weekend away on Sunday there my right ear starts ringing (like a dog whistle was best way to subscribe it) I got it checked today privately, low level hearing loss but fine at top end range 2Hz above.
Went to A&E and been referred to ENT for Monday, who will do same checks as private place. But need them to do it to allow me to go use private medical via work (to speed up next bit) I was told they think it’s nerve drop in the ear (basically actual ear is fine) but this is connected to bone behind ear (think there’s 3) so possible it’s infected, never damage or tumor (last one don’t think it’s that) but will be getting MRI booked to get all scenarios ruled out
For now I have constant noise in my ear all day, worse in quiet places. Find white noise, an extractor fan and certain relaxing noises really helps mute sound and used that to get to sleep at night.
Won’t lie, it’s made me feel very uneasy and starting to test my patience and I am sure my stress / cortisol levels are elevated) as noise won’t go away. Work has been great and actually the busy distraction helps keep my mind of it and sometimes zone out so much out that almost feels like it’s gone (but comes back) reading online can train brain over time to deal with that but no easy fix.
Now going down various Rabbit holes and trying to establish some ways to help!
Guess till I get all my checks done won’t know 100% for sure. But this constant sound in my ear is honestly starting to wear me down and it’s only day 5…… so has anyone has anything start similar and got any amazing tips outside usual suspects
I now have a very quick and fast appreciation for people living with this….its genuinely bloody awful
