I am going to see an nhs audio therapist next week because I I told the audiologist months ago that I was not coping well with a new noise.I also feel this new noise is not T as it happens when I move my head from side to side or rub my face when washing.
ENT have done a scan and found nothing nasty but put it down to pulsative T.
Any ideas about what I should say?

Hi Nigel. Obviously I'm not an expert but getting a new sound from movement or touching your face would suggest Somatic tinnitus (which I have.) I believe this comes under the umbrella of subjective tinnitus and not pulsatile. As I say, I'm no expert but have a read up on Somatosensory/Somatic tinnitus to see if it matches your symptoms.Good luck.
This diagnostic guide from our website might be helpful, Nigel - intended for ENT professionals but certainly worth sharing with your audiology practitioner: tinnitus.org.uk/for-profess...
