Magnesium glycinate

Hi, When I first got tinnitus, I got off the low 5mg dose of fluoxetine since I thought that could have caused it. I had no hearing loss. I got progressively more anxious and depressed, which only made it worse. In the middle of this I got a problem with blood pressure which compounded the BP problem. My doc did not think there was anything wrong with the "hairs in my ears" and urged me to get back on the fluoxetine. I did, throughout this time, still have periods of complete silence. The BP meds were doubled for a couple of days. The fluoxetine is kicking in, so I'm not bothered by it as much. I was also encouraged to get magnesium glycine, about 340-400mg. I have it with cocoa a couple house before bed. Complete silence at night and when I wake up. Amazing sleep. I can get a little during the day, but I'm not bothered. Important to remain CALM.

Curious to know, is it glycine or glycerinate? How much do you put in your cocoa? Fed up with no sleep and will try your remedy. Any p[articular brands of coffee and glycinate. I have glycinate but in capsule form, presuming you use powdered? Thank you

Yes I would very much like to see any answers you have for Margo as well!! Yours is the virtually first ever case I have ever heard of tinnitus moving in the desired direction and so I am seriously wondering if you were on to something here.

Hi, I'm in NY, and the things I get are usually at Amazon. The magnesium I have is capsules, Nutricost magnesium glycinate. 420mg. That is a lot, so I might look for a 320mg. You know your own diet, so estimate and don't take too much. They also have magnesium spray for the bottom of your feet. Who knew?? Today in the mail I got a powder to make cocoa with. I'm a little disappointed it'd only 80mg but I'll try it 2nite. I don't have hearing loss, so doc thinks my tinnitus may be more stress related. I was able to get back on a low dose fluoxetine.

Sorry to make things seem more complicated, not intending to but I need to ask about this: Have you looked into whether you could upset balance of your other nutrients, or retard your absorption of magnesium, by taking into account magnesium's chemical co-factor calcium? Not enough calcium can affect how much magnesium you can absorb at some point...whereas too much calcium can also have its consequences though. And it's not just me thinking that, a couple of days ago I had my annual cardiology session and the cardiologist mentioned that yes, calcium is a cofactor and must be taken into account when supplementing with magnesium.

Just seen this, very interesting, I didn't know about the connection with magnesium and calcium. Thank you for posting

Got it. Any details on how the tinnitus went away, how strong it was when it started, how long it took to off, at what doses and schedule did it take to resolve, did it start back up if you stopped the treatment (a very important thing ask, it's called the reversal)?

Thanks very much for giving a few more details.

Also I just tried that moonbrew drink and didn't really like the taste. Didn't finish. I'd rather take the pill. I opened the capsule and dumped a little out so it's not quite as strong
