What is silence, silence is laying in a meadow with your eyes closed listening to the birds in the distance, what is silence , silence is sitting in the garden feeling the breeze on your face thinking of ordinary things, what is silence , silence is getting in to bed at night snuggling down and drifting off in to the blissful night, this is what life used to be like, then along came this monster called tinnitus which took all that away, and for a long time there was no silence and no peace, but as the weeks turn in to months and months in to years you some how accept what's going on and this noise becomes the new silence albeit with added spikes along the way. i know there are people still struggling and coming to terms with this horrible noise but peace will come your way.

Silence
thank you!
Great post John!
Silence is sitting in a bus staring out the window. It was only when T arrived did I appreciate how noisy buses are. Until then, the brain neutralized the noise, or so it seemed. And the 'silence' is still there. A bus ride and I can forget about T for the duration.
oh John, you have expressed my thoughts and feelings so precisely, I could have written it myself: no more sitting in the garden thinking of ordinary things; no more drifting off to sleep, in silence, just me and my thoughts...Yes, the saddest thing about T, is the loss of Silence.
Yet, you know, I always say to myself: there are so many folks with so many severe afflictions worse then ours: take paralysis, blindness, take terminal cancer for heaven's sake....The list of tragedies that befall people is endless. I'm sure any of those afflicted folks would change places with us in a heartbeat! There are so many things we can do that they can't....
Having said that, I must admit that it may seem insensitive to find 'solace' in comparing our circumstance to tragic circumstances of other people; but it is a sobering thought nevertheless. (I say 'solace' for want of a better word).
Carpe diem, Seize the day, live it the best you can, and never ever forget to count your blessings.
John, you are absolutely correct in saying that peace will come our way🦋.

P.S. I am the first to admit that at times I struggle to seize the day....but I always try, and it always works.
Well put pigeon, most of life is a struggle, we just haft to find a way through it, and in most parts we do.
Excellent post, pigeon. I have two medical conditions other than T, both of which get a little worse by the year. But having shared a pint with some fellow who has Parkinsons recently they are mere inconveniences in comparison.
this made me cry. Thanks, friend.
thank you 🥰
perfect. x
