Hello I went to see my doctor a year ago about this pulsing in my head.
I was told I had wax in my ears so I went through the routine with the olive oil but that didn't work.
And now I'm trying to cope I'm frustrated as it effects me when I'm trying to sleep also I can't hear in social situations. I think it's PT I'm not sure as I can't get my doctor's to send me for a hearing test at the hospital. I just get fobbed off.

Hearing tests are available via the high street via audiology chains like Boots Hearing Care, or traditional opticians such Scrivens and SpecSavers. Whether they are free or have a nominal charge will depend on the outlet, so visiting their websites to get more details will hopefully provide some options and let you book an appointment if you would like to.
It might be one way to see if your hearing is an issue - the pulsing sound you hear might be pulsatile tinnitus, which is a rhythmic condition which can resemble our heartbeat. This is sometimes more pronounced for people with a hearing deficit.
In any event, either a high street or private practice audiologist should be able to do the tests for you and offer some insight into what you're experiencing.
If it is pulsatile tinnitus, often an MRI is recommended to try to discover more. One you have had a HS test (and I've had one at Specsavers, it cost I think £60,I would go back to your GP confirm again your ears are clean and wax-free and try to insist on being referred to an ENT. While pulsatile tinnitus can just be a nuisance, it can also be an indicator of something more serious. With an MRI I discovered I had a vascular loop, in my case inconsequential but they can be operated on if necessary to improve tinnitus and hearing.
