Duelling T Noises

For years I have had a low hum in my left ear, manageable with white noise. This along with very low level whine which I hardly ever noticed. Earlier this year i got pulsatile T in my right ear, had scans and whatnot, all fine and this went by itself after a month

I recently had an ear infection which was followed by a very bad cold that totally blocked my sinuses for a week. This have left me with what I can only describe as a screech in my left ear, this along with my low hum, so I am getting both at the same time. The mornings are terrible as both noises are amplified to the max and whilst it calms down during the day, it is pretty constant.

My doctor still believes I have an underlying infection so has put me on stronger painkillers along with Otomise spray but I am convinced the spray is making it worse. Doesn't seem to be any sign of wax so I can really only hope, that like the pulsatile T I had earlier this year, that this goes away by itself and I go back to the low hum 😔

Why don’t you ask your doctor to refer you to the ENT dept. They will do some tests and you will see audiology people too. Good luck

Thanks and I will, just need to finish course of medicine and having blood taken tomorrow. Was actually checked by an ENT earlier this year when I have the pulsatile, MRA scan which found no issues but different ear this time and different problem

I used a spray when I was experiencing tinnitus spike last year. I felt it made it worse too. The audiologist I saw at the time confirmed this was possibly true

I had the spray for an ear infection. No issues with T.
