Out of interest who on this forum has had pronounced tinnitus for the longest period? At nearly 5 years I know it's not me.

you are a mere junior, Marty! About sixty years, since my teens.

It’s “pronounced” in that I can hear it above the noise of travelling on a motorway at 60 (but at 70 it’s blocked, maybe I should try 80?) . But I’ve habituated so whilst it’s irritating and I wish I didn’t have it, it rarely bothers me, There are far far worse things in life.

Started when I was 11 in 1976. Off and on for years until now it’s always on. I’m so used to it, and have protected my hearing all my life after the initial event.
