Have a guess where I'm going today. I'm going to shout and scream. I'm going to a football match. Now this covid is more "under control". See, all the shouting of other supporters distracts my hearing from the tinnitus. In effect for 90 minutes I have no tinnitus.
This is what I call distraction therapy. (And we might win). Wish our team luck.

Are you a Brentford lass?I'm a Brentford boy myself and went to the new ground a few weeks back. I don't even like football but it was good to forget my Tinnitus for 90 mins!
I was born in Hanwell, a couple of miles north of Brentford, and the river Brent was a large part of my childhood as it flowed through our local, park. My father was a B fan and took me to a match there once when I was twelve or so. Round about the time when they were in the first division. I find football impossible to understand or appreciate but if I had to support a team it would be B!
Have a GREAT time at the game, I have to be honest I still wear ear plugs when I go to matches and gigs. I use these earplugs and are very good (have adjustable gromits) as can still hear enough of game and pals next to me, while not hearing my T (as ambient sound is noisy) and most importantly protecting my hearing tinnitus.org.uk/shop/alpine...
Always find the following interesting in how much exposure is safe to different sounds plugem.co.uk/how-loud-is-loud/ . Hope your team win.
Hope you had a great day out! Unfortunately my T has turned off the excitement of going to football matches, more specifically I find dealing with the crowds bothersome. But if it works well for you, long may it continue.
Oh, I just read your a Cheltenham supporter and you played MK Dons; I could've gone after all, not much to say of a crowd there! But you got a point, so alls well that ends well.
Hacksherley I am a Leeds supporter first (Sorry Brentford), then Donny, then Cheltenham. However I am trying to prove to all, that there is an escape from Tinnitus, it may be temporary, or it may be 2-3 hours, but find them and the enormous pleasure to escape.
Glad you had a good time Spurdog! I have a very noisy pursuit - my five nephews. When they're here I don't give my T a second thought . Too busy trying to keep them under control 🙃
I agree great way to remove yourself from the T and find that space to switch off, which must be very easy, If you watch Cheltenham 😉.
I go often to watch the Mighty Greens (Plymouth Argyle), I do where my musicians ears plugs though, just to be on the safe side.
It's important for anyone you lives with tinnitus to keep doing the things they enjoy and love, puts the T right in its place, not important and just another background noise.
If you travel down this way to watch Argyle Vs Cheltenham in Feb, you won't miss me as I will be the one in the Green shirt cheering when we score our 4th🤣.
Hi bantams. Hope you tested them thoroughly on our behalf. Those pubs have had a bad time, i have a lot of sympathy for them. Must keep standards up, eh?
