I was just here posting about how Sertraline was helping me to manage my anxiety and slowly be able to try and habituate to my new chemo heightened tinnitus. Only to get no sleep last night and have such bad anxiety today that I threw up my dinner, even taking diazepam didn’t help.
And of course being this anxious makes me far more tuned in to the tinnitus, when I thought I was slowly learning how to cope with it.

I’m sorry you are suffering, and having chemo as well certainly doesn’t help! I assume you’ve been given anti nausea pills to help with the chemo side effects? I certainly was.
I think you said in an earlier post that you were not going to try anything new while you were having chemo? I might have misread.
The book “Tinnitus: from tyrant to friend” by a doctor, Julian Cowan Hill, might be worth reading. I’ve got it as a kindle download or you might have it in your library?
I was. Thankfully I’m far better today, actually managed to get some sleep and my nerves are a lot more in control, yesterday was intense and made me scared I wouldn’t come back from it.
Easy for me to say at this remove from the situation, Masterfox, but lack of sleep does make everything a lot more intense and I wouldn't make any decisions on whether tinnitus changes are ongoing when someone is sleep-deprived. We're not on a level playing field at that point, and that's before you take on board the impact of chemo.
Hi MF . I'm sorry you're suffering. Getting to grips with T is a slow process with lots of ups and downs. Especially if you're dealing with other things too - as you are. The book Rosie recommends highlights the different phases people go thru on the journey. You'll get there. It's just a matter of time.
