I have a constant hissing in my ears. I see so may so called cures on the net (supplements, herbs, tablets etc). I've just joined this forum and hoping to get a consensus on what is the best out there and worth a try. Or, are they all just scams capitalising on peoples misery - including fear mongering with warnings of dementia if not treated.
Are there any supplements that work? - Tinnitus UK
Are there any supplements that work?

I wish I could recommend something but I've tried quite a few things without success. But if you find something that works, please let me know. I having hissing 24/7, roughly 80 % left ear 20% right ear. It's been a long 3 years. I can now ignore it most of the time.
Hi there. I've tried most of them! Tinnitus won't lead to any of those ailments, but it does drive you nuts. I take Ginkgo Biloba and Gaba supplements which kind off reduce the anxiety associated with tinnitus, but have no effect on the volume. Make sure you get your ears checked for obvious infections, wax etc. After that, use sound therapy and CBT. These definitely work and will speed up habituation, which is your brain becoming used to, and ignoring the sound. I've had tinnitus for a year now. I never thought I would get used to it, but I have. Most of the time. Tinnitus usually doesn't get worse, it gets better. Check out Dr Ben Thompson audiologist on YouTube. His videos are excellent, and ignore people who push negative advice. Hope this helps.
