My tinnitus having got significantly worse recently, I'm keen to try cognitive behavioural therapy but am having trouble identifying a suitable therapist. There appear to be dozens of qualified therapists in my region (north Oxfordshire) but none list tinnitus as something they treat.
Any suggestions as to what I should look for in finding a therapist?
Thanks

Yes, u could find lots of CBT therapists out there, but someone who specialises in T is much more difficult to find . Best option would be the highly recommended Debbie Featherstone - CBT for Tinnitus E Programme - online course with video consultations. I am doing this and its not too expensive at all and you can take as long as you want to get through the 12 stages. Many on this forum have followed or are following this programme . Offered in association with BTA . Here is the link:
You may want to search local audiologists that specialise in tinnitus retraining therapy.
I am 9 month in now and utilising the free resources listed above my reaction to the sound has found acceptance. My sleep has returned ( that is game changer) and I realise when I get spikes , calming the system mean the tone becomes distance. Tinnitus becomes as doctor then a friend. Its only our system speaking with us.
