for about 3 weeks now I’ve been having tinnitus that comes and goes. For the last 2 weeks though it’s been constant in my left ear. I’ve been having horrid bouts of dizziness but not like the room is spinning, more like a buzzing feeling, like when you use an electric toothbrush for instance. I’ve been having a tingling sensation in my left foot and hand too. I also woke up twice through the night trembling. I’m so worried and can’t see my go for two weeks. Does this sound like it’s ear related? No signs of infection in the ear though and no pain, maybe just a bit of fullness.

Dizziness, tinnitus, tingling
Im a bit worried about you asking us to diagnose something, where there are more than one symptom. Could you phone 111?
I went to A&E a couple of weeks ago after some dizziness and a big a funny turn, at that point I had no ear problems just a little bit of intermittent ringing in one ear. Follow up with the gp was useless, just gave me beta blockers for anxiety. Hoping to find more answers when I get to see the GP. I guess I was just after a bit of reassurance or experiences of things like this.
I am sorry to read that your feeling so poorly. I get bouts of dizziness sometimes with my tinnitus. The key thing here is to stay calm and let it all pass because your anxiety is just adding fuel to the fire. I hope that you find a good doctor that will help to reassure you and maybe give you a referral to the ENT dept.
thank you, I know everything will pass but when I’m in the thick of a dizzy attack it’s just hard to see that it will ever end. Hoping to see the gp this week, fingers crossed. It’s awful when you feel like your normal life has come to a halt, im only 32 so it’s been a shock.
Hi Catmum, I really understand your worry and frustration. My situation is different in that I have cochlear hydrops which gives me hearing loss and tinnitus. But last May I started getting a weird feeling in one area of my scalp like something was crawling in my hair combined with tightness of the skin around my eye, blurred vision, numbness and ti going in my face and feeling dizzy but not vertigo- all on the right side. It was super scary. Gp and emergency eye unit drew a blank. It came back in December and a few weeks ago. My gp keeps prescribing antidepressants which I won't take. I've been waiting a year for an appointment with my ENT consultant. I'm not sure if any of this helps you but I think it's really important that we keep pushing to get gps etc to see that people with tinnitus often seem to have a random collection of other symptoms that may or may not be related but they need to see us as a whole person and treat us holistically. Apologies for the rant, really hope you find an answer x
Can I ask why will you not take antidepressants. I have had tinnitus for 5 years and 5 years ago I had a breakdown could not handle it . I was reluctant like you not to take them . But I did as I was under the mental health team . And the antidepressants was the only thing to cure my anxiety and depression especially over tinnitus. I was on them for about 14 months but came off slowly actually with the anxiety gone it helped with the tinnitus it got very low . But unfortunately now after 5 years my tinnitus as got worse so now I have just started antidepressants again to see what happens this time. My anxiety is so bad and I haven't got the tools to do it manually so i will have to try something.
With the symptoms you have that don't appear to be all ear related, I would make an appointment to see your GP. I don't think we're qualified to answer medical problems here. Good luck.
hello 👋
I’ve only just joined and seen your post , how are you doing now?
I can relate to everything you have posted , it comes now and again for me , the tingling , the tinnitus for me too is in my left ear , though I have started to get clicking noise in my right ear now also .
The dizziness feels like I’m on a boat , bobbing around rather than spinning.
Hope your improving 👍 as I’ve just seen your post was a while ago.
Hi, I’m sorry you’re also experiencing these symptoms. It’s definitely scary and uncertain at the beginning but I can happily say I’m 95% better now. I had a couple of MRI’s and an angiogram, both were normal. I was diagnosed with migraine/vestibular migraine and PPPD. I now take a small dose of Amitriptyline daily. The dizziness has settled but it will always flare up if I’m anxious or stressed. The tingling and numbness I was experiencing is typical of migraine symptoms when they are chronic. The tinnitus is still there and occasional ear pressure but it’s bearable now. I hope this helps and you feel better soon!
The ways that helped me improve were to keep moving, get outside into nature and don’t avoid places like shops and etc, you need to retrain your eyes and ears to work together again.
Best of luck to you. If you have any other questions please ask.
Thank you so much for taking time to answer my question, I really appreciate that .
Yes I’m finding being in nature is so good , and without wanting to sound too hippy like , grounding stops my Tinnitus for a while , I’m not sure why this happens but 20 mins of bare feet in my garden , & no Tinnitus for about 2hours max , I’ve been reading up on the voltage from the earth & how it is so beneficial for our health and sleep , of course this could all be nonsense, but it’s working for me so thought I’d mention it .
