Hi, I vaguely recall someone discussing Nytol herbal sleep aid tablets a while ago, there are green boxes & blue boxes & someone recommended one of these but I can't remember which one was considered more useful when suffering with Tinnutis & poor sleep???Any help much appreciated

Hi, we are all different when it comes to tabs. I have never tried green, but have just used 2 boxes of blue, 20 tabs. I tried it on a trial basis, so 2 or 3 tabs a week, with 2 missed weeks per box, not impressed. Got the odd 7 and an 8 hr sleep, but then it returned to 4.5 to 6.5, so not helpful for me. Today went back to chemist and asked for something stronger, and he gave a brand called Sominex, 16 tabs, which I will be trying from next week. I think that I handle my T of 45 years, pretty well, so in bed I try to think of something good that happened, things that I have to do, or a good memory. Good Luck.

Many thanks for responding, much appreciated. You state you tried 2 or 3 tablets a week??? I am under the understanding that they need to be taken every day to build up in the system? However, I purchased some Sominex today, took 2 tablets over 2 hours ago & still awake, trying not to let my T dominate my head. Hoping that they will be effective as the week progresses 🤞🤞

Ok, i am not an expert, but I do not want to rely on tablets, so I decided to split the week. You on the other hand, have already taken double the nominated dose. Tablets with me, did not make me feel tired, I would take at 23.15, and hit the pillow at 01.00 am, still not tired, having taken also some sleep induced foods. In my book, it is all down to ignoring the T when you hit the pillow, and thinking of something that makes happy, or are looking forward to. I can currently hear my ears whilst writing this, but there is nothing that I can do about it, so I ignore it. If you dont mind, it does not matter. Good Luck

Hi, I have read the box on my Sominex Herbal tablets & it states "take two tablets, one hour before bed" phew, so luckily I haven't taken double the nominated dose. Maybe yours are different to mine & not herbal??? You are absolutely right when you say about trying to think happy things, sometimes this works for me but sometimes I just feel I need help as I am unable to drop off & that is when the T then manifests itself & becomes a vicious cycle. I am only 16 months since the onset of T so it is still relatively early days for me. 45 years is a long time!! Any tips welcome!!!

Hi, apologies for the mistake, mine are normal, 1 at a time, dont do herbal. Well fortunately for me, I was a workaholic for 17 years doing long hours, Wembley Stadium then the local council after, so did not have time to dwell. Some say, not to be on the computer or tv for half an hour before bed, try and read, it relaxes the brain. Its hard in the beginning, but you seem to get annoyed, so T wins. Good Luck.
