Hello Mathew

The most recent research that I can find linking tinnitus and cholesterol problems cites a condition called Hyperlipidemia.

Other research I've read bases its findings on studies of animals with high levels of cholesterol and induced hearing loss/tinnitus - so the comparison is not exactly a one-to-one match for how tinnitus may develop amongst humans.

If tinnitus is deemed to be symptom of Hyperlipidemia, the NHS pathway to follow would be one which tries to identify if a patient has a dangerously high level of bad cholesterol and looks to manage that condition. I would find it hard to imagine that tinnitus would be high on the priority list of any doctor treating these specific health issues.
