Layers upon layers of sound. I put switches on all the things I could to be able to turn them off.
I moved a new fridge into the garage today and turned off the one in the house. I’ll use it like a cupboard. One by one as the machines go off the sound environment is better but each time I get rid of one I hear one more tone and have to search out the source and hopefully turn it off. I need a house with no electricity in it. I may have to move into a tent at this rate. Oh yeah, and the tinnitus never stops. Aaaaarrrgh.

Well, I can’t tell if that is good or bad. Not hearing the fridge is good, T drowning it out, not so much. I keep not watching Better call Saul, no reason. I’ll take a look. Be well.
Hello, I wanted to respond with an article from our latest Quiet magazine about a study into low frequency noise. They don't have all the answers yet but it might give you some hope to know that researchers are looking into it to try to find ways of helping. You could even sign up for the study if you're interested.
Last night I slept outside in my tent thinking the sound ( the low frequency hum) may be better outside than in the house where somehow it seems louder. Unfortunately it was not, but it was lovely seeing the stars and hearing the frogs and crickets. I am trying not to panic. I have meditated for over 40 years.... this is putting my ability to calm to the test, for sure!
I also ordered a pillow speaker. I have not wanted to add more sound to my life but I can tell it may be necessary. I so value quiet.
I thought the same thing Lauren. I thought of camping outside in the warm evenings would help but obviously it doesn’t. I do listen to a lovely relaxation meditation my Jason Stephenson, it’s very soothing. Alexa has some really nice ambient sounds too ... babbling brook, rainfall a crackling fire sound too. I hope your new pillow is a success. 🙂
I just ordered some nature sounds and a few other sound scapes. I guess I have to give up quiet. I feel like my brain needs a break from input of any kind but alas, it’s not going to get it. I’ll check out Jason Stephenson thanks!
Yesterday the guy from the water treatment facility across the river walked through it with me and is going to work on quieting some of the machinery. He was so nice and thoughtful. That noise is not the tinnitus but it does not help. My husband is talking about building g me a soundproof room. I want to try one first. May be great for ambient noise but could make the tinnitus rage with no other distraction. Oh the things we do to adjust to this!
Someone suggested a woman in Australia that says using methods that effect the brains neuroplasticity Helps and in some cases eliminates the tinnitus. I’ve been listening to a bunch of her videos interesting work. Debating doing it. Check it out. Www.seekingbalance.com
