Pulsatile Tinnitus and food

I have had pulsatile tinnitus for about 3 years now, a pain but manage to live with the issue. I have had all of the tests, MRI, MRA, Doppler, etc, but no conclusions as to why.

My question is, for those with pulsatile tinnitus, do you find that your pulsatile tinnitus is worse for about 2 to 3 hours following food?

I find this to be true too as food like caffeine changes things, even blood pressure so we can notice it. My pulsatile tinnitus goes away often though. Does yours ever go away sometimes?

No mine is there every day. It's always more noticeable following breakfast, lunch and dinner (the worst time is always after dinner and then following rest watching TV).

I also notice that a big and or fatty meal will make it worse.

Hi ! As far as I am concerned, I have had a second Cochlear implant done 20 months ago and since then, every morning when I wake up I have pulsatile tinnitus or if I make physical efforts , it takes 1 hour or 2 before I feel comfortable, I have seen a neurologist, she gave me a medication to calm down the nervous system, it’s a bit better but I have to see her again, increase the dose or change the medication, the specialist seems to understand the problem but we all react differently, with the Cochlear implants I am 100% deaf!

Hi, for food, lowering of high cholesterol intake and alcohol helps a lot in a way that blood pressure is kept at an optimal level. Since many cases of pulsatile tinnitus are caused by blood vessel complications, keeping it in a normal state lessens the sound heard.

I hate to be the "odd one out" but I find that after eating , my PT tends to disappear for an hour or two, so the trick for me is to keep eating...!

I wonder why that is!

Hi to all. I have had pulsating tinnitus for the last 3 years. I can understand why people believe eating makes it worse. I've been through scans and all is fine apart from being diagnosed with clicky jaw. When I move my jaw into different positions the noise alters, or I bite down hard it's almost gone. So my feeling is it's to do with the jaw.

Does anyone else experience this.

AELR.
