Any other musicians / ex-musicians on the forum? I would love to hear other peoples experiences regarding music, hearing loss and tinnitus.

takeontinnitus.co.uk (free tinnitus management programme)

If you’d like to sign up to receive ‘Focus’, our new free monthly e-newsletter, you can sign up at tinnitus.org.uk/forms/conta...

Simply click on the icon called 'We are here!' at the bottom right corner of the screen to start your chat.

Hi

Two years ago I got blasted by a speaker and got buzzing in both ears. I need sleep phones to be able to sleep and I hear it all the time especially load when things are a bit quiet. I gave up drumming in my band, stopped listening to music of any sort and did not go to gigs or parties for the first year. Now I listen to music but quietly, go to parties but take ear protection and have a break every hour. I have gone to small music festivals where I took protection and listened from a distance. I know some musicians play with T but I am not ready to chance it just yet.

Hi, DM. We're about to begin a project, in collaboration with the charity Help Musicians UK, to explore the extent of tinnitus amongst musicians and the effect this has on their art and professional lives.

You can find the news story on our website here -
