Hi there, it’s Woodentop here, sorry to hear that your T has increased, I spoke with my audiologist about you hope you don’t mind, he said once he has referrals for T he has no problem in seeing someone very quickly it’s the ent dept that appears to hold things up, if referal already in phone stepping him and ask to be put through to ent dept to see where you are on list don’t suffer like this as I previously mentioned audiology will sort you not cure but you will be impressed . Obviously it’s the getting there that’s the problem,,fingers x for you.

Hi woodentop, hope you're keeping well, thank you its much appreciated, I don't mind at all, I'll give stepping hill a ring. Its calmed down again today but it really shook me up how loud it went, its so unpredictable. Hope you're managing well at the moment, cheers.

Quick update, I rang audiology to see if they could tell me where I was on the list and they hadn't had referrals through, advised to contact ent, rang ent and spoke to the Secretary who said she had posted referrals on the 15 Jan to audiology, 2 1/2 weeks wasted unfortunately but she said she would email them through straight away and to ring audiology on Monday so hopefully things will be moving now, thanks for prompting me to ring otherwise I'd still be waiting for the letters to arrive!

Hi woodentop, hope you're keeping well, I've got an appointment with Martin at tinnitus clinic at stepping hill on 19th February, thanks for the prompt to chase it up as I don't think it would have happened as quick if I hadnt. Take care.

Brilliant news, I am there on 18th feb,I could change it and we could meet and go for a coffee if you want? Or maybe at another time, as there is no T group in Stockport I mentioned to him that I would facilitate if enough interest, he replied that there is a room there that we could use??? , though my son gets hitched in June and I couldn’t do anything before then.

That's a great idea, would be good to have a chat. I was thinking the other day it's a pity there isn't a support group in stockport's, the nearest one seems to be in Manchester, maybe it's something we can look into starting? Let me know if you change appointment otherwise we can meet up another time cheers. My names simeon and I live in bredbury. Cheers

I will try to change my appointment to run near yours, I am presuming you will get a “ masker” this will be new to you and your ear, do you want to meet up when you have finished with Martin or would you prefer to be alone so to speak with your new “ friend” I can do whatever you prefer, no problem. What time is your appointment?

My appointments 2.45 but got to shoot off straight after so could meet before or arrange another time, whichever suits you best.

Afternoon,I can happily meet you at say,2pm, at maternity cafe,or I can leave you a note with Martin to give you with my name and phone number on,,it’s your shout, thinking about it you will be seeing Martin and getting something foreign to you to go in your ear,it may be that’s enough for you? However if you want to meet me before you see Martin that’s fine by me,just be aware if you drive, car parking is a nightmare so whichever you do allow plenty of time to park.I look forward to meeting you especially to hear your story and how it affected you, mine, wow,I have been to “ the place” no one ever wants to go but with a lot of support and patience from different people I feel, well, not 100%; but not far away, which ,no way would I have believed only a few weeks ago,,,cheers for now.

what is the reason of your T ?treatment of underlying condition can cure this condition.

Hi, it was noise trauma, hoping a hearing aid and masker will help. Take care.

Yes. Likely will get cured by Hearing Aid itself and never bother you. Its generally a loss of frequency that causes it and Hearing aid will get you the ability to hear that frequency. Good bye T for ever. No Masker may be required.

Have you been given Steroids ? The Noise induced Tinnitus can be reversed also by use of Steroids and revising your hearing . An ENT specialist can decide whether Steroids can restore your hearing. Generally noise induced hearing loss is temporary. Good Luck.
