Do you wear a combination hearing aid?

The NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre recently conducted an online survey to gather information on people’s expectations and experiences with combination hearing aids (hearing aids with built in sound generator).

NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre would like to hear from:

•people with tinnitus who currently use combination hearing aids (hearing aids with built in sound generator).

They are looking for 5 people to help us understand the results of the survey and make sure that their interpretation of what people said is correct.

This would involve:

•Attending a meeting of between 1-2 hours at Ropewalk House, 113 The Ropewalk, NG1 5DU, Nottingham (this will be during May no specific date has been decided on yet) where you will talk through your views with others and the research lead.

For attending the meeting there is a total payment of £25 and they can pay up to £20 for travel expenses, refreshments during the meeting will also be provided.

If you feel you meet the criteria to take part and wish to volunteer please e-mail Magdalena Sereda on Magdalena.Sereda@nottingham.ac.uk

If you can help, that would be fantastic - I know from personal experience it's very rewarding to take part in research - even if you don't think you're doing much, believe me, it is actually really valuable, and really helps!

I would have enlisted if I lived nearer as I'm sure these combination hearing aids help. Hope Nottingham finds its recruits.

I would have enlisted too if I was closer! Berry76 I wish my experience of the combination hearing aid was good. I can't get used to the tinny sound. The masking bit seems to work but after I have taken it out my tinnitus is much louder.

I will feedback to Magda that having to meet in Nottingham is proving a bit of a barrier - we've had that comment on our social media as well.

I'm sorry I would love to do it but I am in Miami Florida. Is there any study of Miami Florida

Hi Freddy17

The best place to look for trials near you is on clinicaltrials.gov - you can search by condition and by place to see what's happening.

Warmest wishes
