I was going to ask the same thing when you posted. I also have a constant high pitch ring but the pulsing is quite different - like a rhythmic scratching. At first it woke me up thinking I had an insect near my ear about four months ago. Then I decided it was the muscle twitching against the duvet on my temple and side of my face including my ear. If I lay my head on the pillow I hear pulsing as a whoosh - different to my usual tinnitus. It makes my left white noise aid sometimes seem to come and go in roars but other times it is steady.

I was looking up symptoms of either pulmonary hypertension or atherosclerosis - which killed my mum and great gran. And I saw this as a listed potential symptom of both.

I also have a connective tissue disease and Hashimoto’s so I’m a bit of a candidate - especially as I had a carotid Doppler 3 years ago which showed mild disease plaque in all my arteries.

So I just wanted to check that I’m not just making something out of nothing here and ask if my description of this as a rhythmic rustling sounds like pulsatile tinnitus or not?

The only thing that helps me is rolling onto my back. It has taken me a while to ask about this because I have so many other weird symptoms that I’d just decided it was me!

Lipoprotéine a fondation i was suffering on FB and I pass by I learn a lot and I check my Lpa it was choking

in reply to Raoudha

It’s complicated for people like me with a connective tissue disease as there is no good cholesterol like most people have. But I will ask doctor to get this checked as it hasn’t been for a long time as far as I know.
