Thank you for all your answers so far. This question also ties in with a survey that our friends at Tinnitus Hub are conducting for Tinnitus Week. If you'd like to participate you can find the survey at: surveymonkey.com/r/Tinnitus...

He doesn't lol. In my humble opinion from my own personal experience T is between me and it and no matter how kind, thoughtful, caring a significant other may or may not be it still doesn't shut it up!

Nothing really can be done to help it,sadly, but my husband was so helpfull and supportive in the early weeks I don't know what I would have done if I was on my own! Now he is just 'aware' of how difficult it is for me on a daily basis, but I and therefore both of us just try to get on with life as normal.😊

My husband has supported me throughout although at the beginning it was tough for him too.

Tinnitus changed our lives completely - we stopped doing most of the things we did before which I felt guilty about but he never complained.

Now we are slowly getting our lives back to normal again despite other health problems we have gathered along the way.

I know I could never have done this without him.

Hi Nic,

Although my wife has her own medical issues to deal with, she is always there for me through thick and thin and always has been. As Curlew says, just to have someone being supportive and understanding goes a long way and I honestly don't know how I would cope without having her to turn to.

I'm pleased that the majority of you have supportive partners and other loved ones. If anyone reading this has a loved one a little lost in how to help, I'm the co-author of a leaflet on the topic (so any feedback would be good) which you - and they - can read here tinnitus.org.uk/supporting-...
