tinnitus
Hi Julie,
It can take a long time for the benefits of wearing HA's to be fully realised. I had a similar experience when I first started wearing my little fellas, the first couple of days was bliss, as I couldn't hear the T at all, but then slowly over time it crept back in and got louder & louder until it was almost back to where it started.
The key word there is 'almost' - the HA's do have a positive impact and if you stick with them, you should see a general improvement in time. My audiologist suggested that he'd normally expect a person's tinnitus to reduce by c.10-20% through using HA's and that seems about right based on my own experiences. They don't get rid of it, but they do make it less difficult to bear.
I wear hearing aids for bad hearing. They do not help with my tinnitus which is loud and all the time. I haven't been offered any help, despite telling them my tinnitus interferes with the hearing test.
