Relaxing and sleeping:looking for suggestions.

I have 2 questions:

1. Does anyone experience some form of relaxation techniques which makes the perception of tinnitus less loud?

2. Does anyone have some suggestion to fall asleep again once waken up in the middle of the night for some reason?

Many thanks to anyone who answers my questions.

When trying to sleep, I focus firstly on my fingers and toes and try to relax them and 'put' them to sleep , then my hands and feet etc etc. It works sometimes ?!!! 🤔. I find using sound enrichment through the night can help also provided it's not something that makes you need the loo all the time !!

Initially I was climbing the walls and living on 2hrs sleep a night. My GP gave me zopiclone that knocked me out for 6hrs. At least I could then function. Was later given a small does of Mirtazipine so I get 8hrs sleep most nights. If I wake up (post 50 wee) I try and focus on the noise from my sound box. It plays the sounds of waves on a beach. You may not wish to go down the Medicine route but I have a job and two young kids. Sometimes you just have to be pragmatic.

This works for me but I know that this is not for everyone. T is so much easier to deal with when you are not tired.

Good luck on your journey.

Hi, I use a sleep head band and a cheap mp3 player and concentrate on listening to Audio books through the night and have no problem getting off to sleep and if I wake in the middle of the night with my T screaming it generally means my headband has slipped round but after a quick adjustment I get back to sleep with no trouble at all.
