Received new bottle of Cytomel and have started taking my usual dose of 55mcg in divided doses. All day today I've had a pulse rate of 103 ... Could this be due to the new dose being more potent ? Does the potency wear off ?
I've felt very tired and thought it was time for an increase in dose but I daren't until my pulse settles.
Any thoughts?

Decrease your dose tomorrow and it should settle down. Have you used Cytomel before? If not, it could be slightly more potent than what you have used before and maybe you should introduce it more gradually.
They were keeping some of their T3 in a shed where is was being exposed to high temperatures, possible freezing, strong sunshine and humidity. And wondered why it didn't seem to potent!
All those plus oxygen can cause deterioration.
So it is always likely that an older/less cared-for pot will be less potent.
It sounds like you are taking too much, I have started self medicating wit cytomel 2 Weeks ago, I have been checking my pulse and blood pressure daily and my pulse went up from 56 to 77 initially but after a few days it has stabilized at around 70~72. Maybe you should ease off a little and increase your dose at a slower rate. X
Sounds like an excellent idea to reduce. How have you worked out the dosages and when do you take them through the day? Read Paul Robinson's book Recovering with T3. He discusses a circadian method that I personally have found invaluable.
I started taking the same meds as you in January. T3 is better taken in small doses first so that you can habituate. I split my first dosage to roughly 6mcgs x 3 daily. I increased on a fortnightly basis to 25mcgs x 3 daily. I have had a very severe VitD deficiency and this has left the bones in my hands fragile and twisted a little. So, it is hard to chop the pills. Therefore, for convenience I tried to get away without having to cut them. I find however, that if I have a a stressful day ahead it is better to take 25mcgs in morning followed by 2 x 12.5mcgs. Very hard to always predict stressful days but gradually it becomes easier. I also try to limit the amountI do in the day but that is just me. We are all different.
Unfortunately, learning to dose appropriately is a bit of a hassle especially for some people. I find taking triodothyronine (T3) best at 6 - 7am, 12.00noon and 4pm. Next week cause I am on holiday I am going to split my last dose so that I take half at 4pm and half at 6pm. Hopefully, will stay awake a bit later.
My FT3 levels were outside the normal range but that was my fault. I should have had the test either earlier or later in the day. Not 40 mins after I had taken the lunchtime dose.
