Tea and Levo-any advice?

I take my levo 1 hour before food at least but have 2/3 cups of tea after taking the tablet.

Could this be negating the effect? I'm only on 50 mcg and really wish I'd known that it's best taken at night. Any comments greatly appreciated.

Hi,

You should really take the Levo with water not with tea. Everything else including tea should be left for an hour as you do now with food.

If you take milk in your tea you should leave it for four hours before drinking as you will be putting calcium into your system. The tea is also not good for the thyroid as it is grown in fluoride rich soils.

Saying that I love my tea and can't stop drinking it. I changed to taking the Levo at night before bed and this means I don't have to worry about it in the morning or watching the clock to get my cup of tea.

Take levo with one glass of water only 1/2 to 1 hour before eating, or take it last thing at night - not having eaten anything for 2 hours before. The reason you have to take one glass is so that the levo will go straight into stomach and not expand in your gullet.

I also read somewhere that heat ( if you take your tea hot!) interferes with the taking of levo too.
