I'm not sure if this is a new symptom or just random but for the last few days my throat has been sore and I've had a weird tin or copper type taste in my mouth.

Hi I may be wrong but i think it can be low B12? Any way with thyroid disease very important to have 4 other tests, B12 and Folic acid ( autoimmune) , Vit D ( hormonal), if low corrected calcium before taking any D, then retest 3 months, Iron/ ferritin and Diabetes, hopefully ,glucose and the better Hb1Ac. That is hormonal and autoimmune and to start with more or less the same symptoms as thyroid disease.

Sorry I cannot be more help.

Best wishes,

Jackie

Hi Jackie, I am vit d deficient but they haven't tested me for B12, iron, calcium or folic acid. I'll bring it up with my endo before I see them again to see if I can get another blood test form to incorporate these.

Thank you x

Hi Yes ,a good idea, moat endo`s do these on the first visit. B12 and foliates always done together, the others are all separate tests Make sure you have a copy with ranges, for future reference. If autoimmune thyroid disease, these should be done annually, even my GP will do them for me.I have severe diabetes any way, so that is tested many times, although not as useful as doing my finger prick test( BM)

Best wishes,

Jackie

Is it possible you have a virus or throat infection? If the skin gets very raw there can be a somewhat bloody taste.
