if i am suffering from lightheadedness and feeling dizzy could it be due to having an underactive thyroid.
Hello, Yes it certainly could. See this list from our main website.

yes i am on 175mg thyroxine. It has just been dropped from 200mg.
Did you have the symptoms you've described before the dose was reduced?
What was the reason given for the levothyroxine dose being reduced? Do you have the details of your most recent thyroid test to post here so that we can see the bigger picture?
yes it was reduced because i went overactive the doctor lowered it to 150mg, then i felt unwell they took blood tests and then said it was to low and put the dosage up to 175mg.
Did you feel overactive? To drop 50mcg is huge. Were you happy on 200mcg? And was the decision to reduce your dose based on blood test results? How are your other hypo symptoms now?
I just felt unwell, the blood test i had keep showing that i am too high or too low. The doctor suggested to try 175mg. My head is so bad i feel so low. I have to keep lying down i feel so miserable.
I think you are probably now underactive. If you felt improved on 200mcg I don't know why your dose was reduced. It seems to happen to an awful lot of patients usually making symptoms worse.
I got put on a lower dose recently and felt dreadful within hours. I always have spare tablets and after two days i couldn't bear it and resumed taking my previous dose. I improved with the nausea sweating and weakness, but it's taken a while to recover from the unwaranted meddling.
Thank you for your help, i will have to just keep going until i start to feel a bit like normal. Does it settle eventually or will i just have to keep having blood tests?
