Could anyone recommend an Endo who has heard of Dr Kent Holtorf and his methods of testing etc.?

I'm really beginning to struggle with depression again and have only just realised that there's a link with underactive thyroid which i've had for years. Obviously my GP has not linked this in the last 6 years :( I've recently watched the Dr Holtorf webinar on 'are we being given the run around' and emailed them a few times, but they don't have anyone in the UK that i could go to for testing or consultation and i'm not sure my private Endo has heard of their methods. Anyone out there who could recommend somebody would be truly gratefully received.

I am very sorry you are struggling with depression as well as a thyroid gland condition.

If you email louise.warvill@thyroiduk.org for a list of sympathetic endocrinologists.

If someone knows an answer to your above question, they should private message you.

If you search Depression, there have been a few articles on this subject.

Hi Often the gP thinks just testing for TSh is enough, it is not, it could well be that or/and your FT3 and T4 are low. You need tests for tSH, T4 and Free T3 as the basic thyroid tests. If GP not doing them , you can get them onthyroiduk.org.uk/tu/te I use blue Horizon ,the intermediate test ( more tests on main site ), quote TUK 10 and it costs £61. Very simple by post, results + ranges to you e mail, all very quick. This is still a common mistake by docs, Physches know better!

Best wishes,

Jackie

Thank you Jackie, that's really helpful. Just waited a month for my GP appointment and the results. I walked in to be told that my throid has dropped so was suprised that they hadn't called me considering the state i was in when i first saw her. How are we supposed to 'function' in full time jobs, families etc. when we get 'service' like this. I'm 'lost' as to what to do next to be honest.
