We so clearly need a very simple law (well, simple in the sense of what it has to do), anything that applies a gag must be illegal in many cases such as those identified. To the extent that coercing people into signing unwarranted gags should itself be an offence.

There have been far too many situations in which people have got away with things because others have been forced to keep quiet.

That is really quite scary! The trouble is, it currently suits the government to not have such a law so it can hide what is really happening in the NHS.

Well, if I was thinking of writing a truly horrendous horror story - I couldn't come up with so much horror in one article.

We should have a statute like the USA where whisleblowers are protected and not be made bankrupt,

Many thanks for posting - Honest and ethical Doctors who care about patients are rare in my experience and only wish Dr Phil was my GP! Interesting reading but scary and the NHS uses similar tactics on patients who complain and seems they even control the media. Live and learn and I was perhaps very naive expecting justice from the NHS when I made complaints.

Very interesting seeing as I am a Whistleblower and have the T shirt! Recently I have been contacted by a Journalist who is calling for the legislation to protect Whistleblowers to be strengthened as currently it is not worth the paper it is written on. I am the living proof. Look out for a piece in the Guardian, don't know when it's going to be published at the moment. I will post again when I know.
