What blood tests before endo appt?

Hello there. I finally have an endo appt two years on from TT. My GP has even agreed to blood tests prior to the endo vist (;-)).. Any suggestions re: what blood tests I should get done? (I am on levo - reduced to 100 2 weeks ago due to dreadful palpitations). thanks in advance, Louisa

Hi well the more you can have the better the endo can advise you. Although the endo will certainly do all the necessary bloods and most will only start/ change one treatment at a time for safety/. Certainly TSH, T4 and Free T3. If possible Diabetes, vit D,( if low calcium ferritin, B12 and Folic acid.. Any others the endo will do after seeing you as depends on how you are, examintaion etc etc.

Lately I've read that the amount of T4 that does not convert to T3 (which you need) will become reverse T3. The ratio between T3 and reverse T3 should be 20:1. You may not be able to get that test but it's seems significant, especially if you are feeling unwell.
