On thyroxine, bendroflazide & nebivilol for high blood pressure - hair shedding in handfuls and bruising easily - could it be medication?

If you look up on Wiki you can see that Bendroflumethiazide has a supposedly rare adverse effect of thrombocytopenia.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bendr...

And if you look up Thrombocytopenia, you can see that the signs/symptoms include bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, etc.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Throm...

Which looks rather like what you asked about.

If you look up Nebivolol on Wiki you can see that there is a paragraph about it. (One USA maker calls it Bystolic.)

Please note that it expressly mentions thyrotoxicosis ifyou suddenly stop taking it.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nebiv...

Bystolic is associated with a number of serious risks. Bystolic is contraindicated in patients with severe bradycardia, heart block greater than first degree, cardiogenic shock, decompensated cardiac failure, sick sinus syndrome (unless a permanent pacemaker is in place), severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh > B) and in patients who are hypersensitive to any component of the product. Bystolic therapy is also associated with warnings regarding abrupt cessation of therapy, cardiac failure, angina and acute myocardial infarction, bronchospastic diseases, anesthesia and major surgery, diabetes and hypoglycemia, thyrotoxicosis, peripheral vascular disease, non-dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers use, as well as precautions regarding use with CYP2D6 inhibitors, impaired renal and hepatic function, and anaphylactic reactions. Finally, Bystolic is associated with other risks as described in the Adverse Reactions section of its PI. For example, a number of treatment-emergent adverse events with an incidence greater than or equal to 1 percent in Bystolic-treated patients and at a higher frequency than placebo-treated patients were identified in clinical studies, including headache, fatigue, and dizziness.

This is getting to be a very complicated, difficult situation that is way beyond my experience or knowledge.

Please DO NOT CHANGE YOUR MEDICATION, and make an appointment as soon as practical with your GP.

Didn't reduce my pressure the way I wanted, usually between 130/80 to 140/90. Was good for my rapid heart rate and usually brought my diastolic rate down. Unfortunately, I became tired a lot which I cured by taking good vitamins from GNC. It calmed me from occasionally anxiety. It made me sleep well and I stopped having headaches. Unfortunately, I had acne, which I have never had in my life, labored breathing, some hair loss, blurred vision and I became very anxious after six months of being on the drug which made my pressure escalate . I have switched medication now and my doctor is weaning me off slowly. I have gone from 10mg to 2.5mg. It's a great drug if it works for you, but it is not for everyone and the side effects vary.
