Hi, if you have only just been diagnosed with hypothyroidism it might take a while for them to get your meds right and your levels. You might feel worse before you get better but you will get better.

Have you also been tested for vitamin d, Vit B12, folate, ferritin and iron as the symptoms with hypo are the same as a Vit B12 deficiency as I found out recently after 18 years of being Hypo.

If you have your blood test results post them on here and someone will be able to help you decipher them.

I hope you feel better soon.

If you haven't got a copy of your recent blood test results you can ask your surgery and post here. You have to put in the ranges as well (figures in brackets) as labs differ and it helps people to comment.

Tina has given you good advice.

There is no way to accurately say when you developed/or began to develop hypothyroidism as the GP's wont diagnose you until your TSH goes to ten, although some will prescribe if you go above 5, even though you have had clinical symptoms for ages. Most do not know what the clinical symptoms are but have been told only to prescribe on the TSH result.

You will start gradually on levothyroxine and have a blood test about every 4/6 weeks to see how your blood level is and hopefully it will suit you and you will have no problems.
