I think you will have great difficulty under the pre-existing complaint exclusion clauses. It is usually only possible to get round them if you are able to join a scheme through your employer.
I know that in some countries (typically where there is some form of mandatory insurance requirement) such clauses are handled differently and may even be outlawed.
HI I have had private insurance since the NHS started. However, if you start it as Rod says they will not cover any existing conditions.Even if you have been to a GP for something in the two preceding years, they mostly will not cover that. Also once a company ( all of them ) decide a condition is chronic, about a year if you are lucky, they stop covering it.However the best way is to see the consultant privately but never have any tests done privately, ask the consultant to ask the GP to arrange. Any blood tests ( really expensive ) Gp or have on line through TUK Bloods, Blue Horizon as they use the same labs as the private hospitals ( known well as TDL). Some insurance are better than others but this is how they all are to some degree. if I can help further send me a PM, names etc.The only exception to the pre joining rule is if your company arranges cover.

Thank You for answers, it looks like I have absolutely no chance then. In this situation I am totally stuck. I am on benefits, I have no money and I have no family that can support me financially, GP is not knowledgeable, my surgery do only standard tests despite me pushing for more tests. I cant get treated.
Try the levothyroxine your GP recommended after he discovered your TSH was 13. It might do wonders. Any other doctor - GP or endo - is just going to recommend the same thing anyway.
